Wylam - Nov 12by ~neonwilderness

Photography / Transportation

Framed by the station footbridge, 156451 departs Wylam with the first passenger train of the day over the Tyne Valley line from Carlisle to Newcastle. I had intended to get a shot of the RHTT here, but it ran earlier than normal and passed before I arrived so I had to make do with this instead.

Wylam Signal Box sits over the line in the background, this is one of only two remaining NER bridge style boxes (the other being further up the line at Hexham).

I used to live in Wylam, great shot. I was often at this station going to work

Thanks, it's one of the nicer stations on the line. My closest one is Dunston which isn't so nice!

I know the trains used to stop at Dunston don't think they do now tho, Wylam was a beautiful place to live but I'm young and not a lot to do there lol I'm now nearer the coast way next to WhitleyBay now, but the shot you took really is awesome.
